Chiron

“The wound is where the medicine is.”

– Willow Defebaugh

Chiron is one of my favorite planets in astrology.

Often called the “wounded healer,” this points to where you may have felt misunderstood throughout your life, or the deep-rooted source of your pain.

But it also reveals your greatest gifts:

The talents you’ve refined through alchemizing difficult experiences.

The strength you’ve cultivated from conflict or disappointment.

The acceptance of the most tender parts of yourself, you might have felt were once rejected.

And the healing you offer back to the world, simply by being yourself.

Where you hurt the most is often where your magic lives — and where you can be of great service to others.

Here’s a glimpse of what Chiron in each sign can feel like (checking which house it’s in gives a much fuller picture):

Chiron in Aries

Wound: Identity, anger, or being made to feel like your existence is “too much”

Gift: Teaching others how to take up space, move with courage, and remember who they are

Chiron in Taurus

Wound: Self-worth, safety, scarcity — money wounds or disconnection from the body

Gift: Sharing beauty, helping others feel grounded and stable at home in themselves, and worthy of slowness and ease.

Chiron in Gemini

Wound: Feeling misunderstood, ignored, or unable to express your truth

Gift: Helping others find their voice and speak with clarity, wit, and depth

Chiron in Cancer

Wound: Emotional abandonment, ruptures in care, or not feeling nurtured

Gift: Creating spaces of deep tenderness and teaching others how to feel safe being soft

Chiron in Leo

Wound: Feeling unloved, a need to perform, or ashamed to be fully yourself

Gift: Guiding others to express their heart boldly, and to be celebrated for exactly who they are

Chiron in Virgo

Wound: Perfectionism, shame around mistakes, or the need to fix

Gift: Showing others that wholeness includes imperfection and that healing can be tender, not punishing

Chiron in Libra

Wound: Loss of self in relationships, feeling unloved or unbalanced in connection

Gift: Teaching others how to honor their own needs while still creating harmony and deep intimacy

Chiron in Scorpio

Wound: Betrayal, loss, or fear that your emotional intensity was too much for others to hold

Gift: Guiding others through transformation, emotional truth, and reclaiming power without shame

Chiron in Sagittarius

Wound: Feeling spiritually exiled, silenced, or judged for what you believe

Gift: Helping others connect to their own truth, purpose, and sense of freedom

Chiron in Capricorn

Wound: Pressure to achieve, emotional suppression, or having to grow up too fast

Gift: Teaching others how to lead from inner stability, not from performance or perfection

Chiron in Aquarius

Wound: Isolation, feeling different, or emotionally disconnected

Gift: Helping others embrace their uniqueness and feel belonging without abandoning themselves

Chiron in Pisces

Wound: Boundarylessness, emotional confusion, or feeling unseen in your sensitivity

Gift: Holding space for deep emotional healing, intuition, and unconditional compassion
